This Chrysanthemum stone from Hunan Province, China, is a rock with chrysanthemum-like patterns appearing on its cross-section. Its beautiful, naturally formed patterns make it highly popular as an ornamental stone. Chrysanthemum stone is a trade name; the white parts are Celestite, and the black parts are composed of carbonate rock. Both have been color-treated to emphasize the chrysanthemum pattern.
