Amber is a resin that over millions of years has been mineralized. We know amber especially under its golden orange color, but the color spectrum that can have amber is much more varied. There is light yellow-golden, orange, cognac, green, dark. Baltic amber is found in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia, and Ukraine. These sites were formed about 50 million years ago when resin from the forests of the Scandinavian peninsula accumulated in the region.
