Jadeite has been treated as a gemstone and treasured more than gold in ancient times in Asian countries, including China, and in Aztec civilization. In China, it has been called "gyoku" (meaning jewel) from ancient times to the present day.
In Japan, it has a history of being used in ancient rituals to worship gods and as ornaments for powerful clans.

This Jadeite (hard jade, jadeite) from Burma (Myanmar), one of the world's largest jade producing regions, is one of our most popular products. It is a lustrous item with a subtle transparency in some parts. This is considered a Top Quality item for Jadeite available in this price range, and it is a popular product among our Jadeite selection. Jadeite has been recognized as Japan's national stone since 2017, and with increased media coverage of Itoigawa Jadeite, it has become a very well-known natural stone to the general public. The demand for this natural stone is expected to increase even further in the future. It is sold from 1/4 strand to make it more accessible.
