These are High Quality Santa Maria Aquamarine Faceted Drop beads from Nigeria. Santa Maria Aquamarine is a particularly rare, deep blue variety of Aquamarine. Its name originates from the Santa Maria mine in Brazil, where it was first discovered. Although that mine is now closed, the name "Santa Maria" has become synonymous with deep blue Aquamarine from other mines as well. The vibrant, deep blue color is beautifully enhanced by the cut's brilliance. Notably, the "Drop shape" of this Santa Maria Aquamarine is quite rare, as this shape requires larger rough stones and results in more material loss during processing, making it exceptionally uncommon for such a rare stone.
