La hollandite de Madagascar dans du quartz, comme son nom l'indique, est du quartz contenant de la hollandite. La hollandite, qui apparaît généralement en masses, se développe en formes d'aiguilles à l'intérieur du quartz, formant des motifs en étoile, ce qui lui vaut le surnom de "quartz étoile". Elle présente une transparence claire et ses surfaces taillées scintillent magnifiquement. En raison des variations de qualité, elle est vendue uniquement en fils complets.
