注金的製作方式是將14K金透過高壓緊密包覆於金屬基底（黃銅）之上，黃金的重量需佔總重1/20以上才可稱為注金。表面完全為14K金，但看不到的芯部（不接觸肌膚的部分）使用黃銅，因此價格實惠。其外觀與純金零件相似，與鍍金零件不同。耐用性也優於鍍金（不易剝落）。如圖所示，推薦用於疊戴戒指。除了作為戒指使用外，亦可作為零件使用。
