C'est un verre naturel rare, le Verre du désert libyen (Verre libyen). Comme la Moldavite, c'est un verre naturel formé par l'impact d'une météorite. Ce verre naturel jaune, dû à la silice, se trouve uniquement dans le désert libyen. De nombreux ornements fabriqués à partir de ce verre naturel ont été découverts dans des ruines antiques autour du désert libyen. Cette pierre a même été utilisée pour les yeux et le pectoral du célèbre Toutankhamon en Égypte, loin de la Libye. Des temps anciens à nos jours, sa rareté a captivé les gens. C'est un article très populaire en tant que pierre de pouvoir. Les parties métalliques environnantes peuvent être ouvertes à un endroit, permettant de retirer la sphère intérieure (voir image).
