Ce sont des perles rondes de quartz cristallin synthétique (quartz artificiel) avec une finition givrée (mate). Le quartz cristallin synthétique est cultivé artificiellement à partir de cristaux de quartz, et sa composition est du dioxyde de silicium, avec une dureté, une densité et un indice de réfraction identiques à ceux du quartz cristallin naturel. Comme il est produit artificiellement, la qualité est stable et il est plus abordable que le quartz cristallin naturel, ce qui le rend adapté à diverses utilisations.
