Les perles de coton sont fabriquées en compressant du coton en forme sphérique et en appliquant un revêtement de perle sur la surface. Les plis et les irrégularités du coton leur confèrent une texture plus naturelle et plus douce que les perles brillantes. Elles sont extrêmement légères par rapport aux vraies perles, réduisant le poids lorsqu'elles sont portées, même dans des conceptions élaborées utilisant plusieurs perles. Ce matériau peut être utilisé dans divers contextes, du formel au décontracté. Ce sont d'authentiques perles de coton domestiques.
