Ce sont des perles pépites de pierre de lune noire (feldspath) de Tanzanie. La couleur de base est profonde, tout en ayant une bonne transparence. Un fin chatoiement argenté et, selon la perle, un chatoiement doré (gold) peuvent être observés. Il y a peu d'imperfections internes caractéristiques, et la lumière glisse en douceur sur la surface de la base noire profonde, faisant apparaître le chatoiement avec une brillance encore plus forte. Avec une large gradation de tailles, ces perles peuvent être utilisées à diverses fins.
