Azurite Information

This gorgeous, brightly colored gemstone crystallizes in different shapes and silhouettes: from elongated or flat and thin, to striped and rich in faces. It is often associated with malachite, in copper deposits because azurite is transformed into malachite; we observe crystals half azurite, half malachite. This bluish, as its name indicates, is an intense blue color and has a glassy and translucent shine, rarely transparent. It was not only used in jewelry but as a base of dye in blue paintings.
